Hi all

This may sound like a real noob question, but here goes ...
I'm using Free Easy CD/DVD Burner v4.0.0
What's the difference between using the software to burn a data DVD or a movie DVD?
I thought that it would just be that a movie DVD creates the two directories AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS automatically, whereas the data DVD mode doesn't.

However it can't be that, because movies burned in data DVD mode (with all the files in the two _TS directories) work fine on a DVD player (a cheap Asda jobby - booting straight into the main menu) but not on my new fancy pants Sharp TV with integrated DVD player. This is not just one disc, but quite a few. So is there some hidden files or boot sector or anything?

The only reason I ask is that Free Easy CD/DVD Burner seems to be a bit hit and miss in DVD Video mode, but is spot in in DVD Data mode - not sure if itisn't 100% compatible with Win7.

Thanks for reading

Use ImgBurn for burning DVDs, either data DVDs or DVD-Video DVDs:

If I am not mistaken, the older/pickier hardware DVD-players require the VIDEO_TS files to be recorded in a specific order,
with the VIDEO_TS.IFO "having to be" the first of all.

And yes, do what manono said —

— switch to ImgBurn already! :)

Hi guys

As always, many thanks for the reponses. So it looks like switching to ImgBurn is a given - I'll get on to it.

@Midzuki : How can I tell which is actually recorded first on a disc? Explorer will only show in order (or reverse order) of name, date modified, type or size. Is it actually possible?

Thanks again.
