Where Should I start???? Too many Questions(anime,divx or svcd, watermark etc.!

i want to rip a dvd and i want to rip not the whole thing but i only want to rip like scene 2, 5, 7, 8, and 9 of the 10 possible
it's in total 45 minutes and i have more dvd i want to rip but i like it to rip it between 10 and 7mb and highest possible Quality:sly:
Is there some one who can give me advice??
do i have to rip it with divx or svcd or any other program??
btw what i want to rip is a anime
and i want to add at the beginning something else like a logo i created and i want to watermark the whole event!, so if someone has a suggestion plz help me!!!:rolleyes:
I would be glad if someone could help me through netmeeting that would be the best solution!

look at gordian knot. you can create the dvd as high quality as you like and also use the original ac3 (dolby digital) audio track. Usually a 2 cd backup is the best trade off between quality and size. As far as labelling goes most people here are not fond of such things and may not be forth coming with advice.

To rip selected chapters of the dvd you can use SmartRipper.Guide is here:

If you want to play your rips on a standalone - make it SVCD. If you only plan to use it on a computer - divx should be your choice. Which one - divx3.xx or divx4.xx is up to you, but since you're new to this, stick to divx4.xx and use Gknot as Nimbus suggested.
BTW - divx or SVCD is not a program. Gknot is.
To add logo - just create it with For example Adobe Premiere and join with the movie. Remember that it has to be compressed with the same codec and it has to be the same resolution.To add watermark you can use one of the VirtualDub filters. But why do you want to add a watermark???? Logo is not enough??? How would you feel if you would have to watch a rip of some very good movie, you always wanted to see, with the watermark on it??? Annoying.....Very annoying...

Logos are fine (I can just cut it out if I want). Watermarks, no matter how small and inconspicuous, are not.
