Hey all.

I have a recorded video that crashes 26 seconds into it. I use MPC HC, but I tried Windows media player, and it crashes at the same place. The video is an episode of Seinfeld, after it was recorded, I encoded it using the "H.264 Low Resolution 480x320" setting in MCE Buddy. I have Windows Vista, and used a Pinnacle HDTV 801e SE. I really am not sure what other information would be relevent to this. Basically everyday there is a show recording, and I encode everything with MCE Buddy, but have never had this happen. If I skip in the video after the 26 second mark, it plays fine, but it keeps crashing when it gets up to the 26 mark. Is this just a freak thing? I have never had this happen. Any comments are apreciated. If you need to know anything else, just ask.

Huh, I just saw another video is doing the same thing, its crashing the media player, but in a totally different place. I noticed also that I open the video in Virtual Dub and there are no problems at all. Does any of this have to do with the h.264 option I'm using in MCE Buddy? I just started to use it, before I was using the divx option in MCE Buddy.

Actually, the video seems to be crashing in multiple places. Also, based on the "proposed solutions and tests' area of gspot, it is related to the audio. gspot crashes at that point in the audio, but not the video

I figured it out. I just uninstalled the vista codec pack and reinstalled it. Everything works fine now. I dont know anything about ffd show, but along with the gspot tests, I realized it had to do with the audio, and I noticed this after installing a few dvd authoring programs to try out. Anyways, what I just wrote prob didnt make that much sense, but its all fixed now. thanks.
