My son has apparently taken upon himself to "inadvertantly" scratch our prized Wii Sports game disc and some ps3 discs to the point where it won't even load in our Wii or ps3 console. I've checked around and apparently you can't buy a replacement for the wii sports retail.
Do you have any suggestions which do not involve selling my child on eBay? i was thinking about getting the hand cranked dvd scratch removers or maybe i can try this out http://www.xcubicle.com/repair-scratch-removal-game-disc-cd-dvd-bluray-wii-xbox-ps3 ? it seems to be what i need.
thanks

I use a "DiskDr" that polishes them. It has worked on nearly every disk I've used it on. It's great when I get a scratched disk from Netflix, so instead of sending it back and waiting two days for another copy I spend two minutes cranking the handle and it plays.

You can get Wii Sports at GameStop I think pretty cheap.

Turtle wax works great. Just use a piece of felt and a small amount of turtle wax; rub it in a circular fashion and vol-la your disk works...

Actually if you're going to polish a CD or DVD you want to buff from rim to hub.

I wonder if toothpaste would work. It is the mildest rubbing compound I could think off. I use it rub off very light scratches on my car.:)

It doesn't work as well as the polisher.

I've used brass polisher and a buffing drill bit before with relative success. Disk wasn't pretty, but I extracted the data.
