Hello,
Does there exist, any filter or script which could time align two videos, which are mostly the same except some frames missing or duplicated at random?
Conversely, are there settings in virtualdub which can avoid duplicate null frames, but just capture every frame regardless if it's timing is wrong?
I need several 1:1 captures of the same source, but each of my versions is going out of sync every few seconds.
This is capped from VCR.

Another question, could mvtools be used to align the lines of each capture? It seems if I could do a panestimate of two lines (one from each capture) at a time I could align them... each line moves left or right as a whole some small random amount.
Thanks

ps averaging caps really improves noise in this case, is there something better than average(clipn, 1/n, ...)?

Matchclips

and Remapframes (stickboy's filter page) should help sync captures.

That is, lineupscenes and matchclips.

For fixing white horizontal lines on vhs, try devcr, declick, descratch.
