I wanted to know how some guys rip dvd into mkv in just 350mb or 400mb without losing quality..
I rip before dvd in Auto Gordian Knot. in AVI in 700mb..its quite well, but know I want to learn DVD ripping in mkv..
please guide me step by step or with snapshots if u can...if anyone do that I will be very thank full.

They don't. The lack of quality loss may not be aparrent to you, but there is always loss when using a lossy format.
MKV is a container. The quality of the video depends on the codec used, not how it's packaged. There is a wealth of information on this site. Your first step will be choosing an encoding application that you can learn and understand.

I think StaxRip is the best...I will learn its how to use it by guides and tutorial and some video...

Just remux the DVD movie to MKV, Matroska is capable of keep unencoded video/audio/subtitle streams. I own ByteCopy which works great on Mac.
