Hi,

I need a program to check pixel aspect ratio on linux. I tried MPEG4 Modifier through wine with no luck. Any other programs you guys would suggest?

I think mediainfo shows pixel AR with Bits/(Pixel*Frame). But im not sure this is right. Can someone explain what Bits, Pixel and Frame refers to?

Cheers,
Lokie

Bits means bits, pixels are pixels and frames are frames. It is an incorrect way some people try to measure quality.

Mediainfo must print the display aspect ratio and the frame size so with some math you can calculate it. Otherwise you could try ffmpeg.

Mediainfo also shows the PAR if you use mediainfo --Full. (I use this in Hybrid. ;))
Bits/(Pixel*Frame) does not say anything about the PAR.

ffmpeg shows both PAR and DAR
