Feature Request for VirtualDub/VirtualDubMod:
Please show Saving frames... during Save as AVI...
(1) Before 'File > Save as AVI...' we can see the selection frame numbers. :)
(2) During 'File > Save as AVI...' we can NOT see the selection frame numbers any more. :(
(3) To let us see what selection region we are saving
for better quality assurance!
(4) During 'File > Save as AVI...' let us see what we are in the process of saving!!! :)
:thanks:

Not at all. It's hard to implement a feature request for software that's no longer developed.

But why would anybody want to continue an old and outdated fork of VirtualDub, which was abandoned long ago, when when he have an up-to-date VirtualDub available?
Most of the features that were hacked into VirtualDubMod are either superfluous now (e.g. MPEG-2 input) or they are so much outdated that they aren't helpful anymore (e.g. MKV support).
Consequently if somebody asks about a long dead project, such as VirtualDubMod, we should point him to the modern replacement, i.e. recent VirtualDub...

I always download the latest virtuatdub when it's available....but I don't use it!....why?
Because for (my) common usage, it is the same thing....preview, lossless encoding, directstream copying in avi, quick editing...
Well, I never said 'you must use vdubmod'....just said gadget was oot and sources are available...
