I've googled this quite a bit, as well as searched on these forums, but havent been able to find anything on this. But can MPC Home Cinema play .m4v files? I downloaded some episodes of Top Gear from iTunes, to play them I have to use quick time. I play all my media in MPC Home Cinema, but it wont read these .m4v files. Does anyone know of a remedy for this? Anyways, I'm just being picky, I would like to stick to one media player for all my files. Any help is appreciated :-).

"m4v" is just renamed mp4.

Most likely what you mean is iTunes DRM (Digital Restrictions Management)-infected files. Nothing but iTunes can play these encrypted files.

Haha, yes that is what I mean. Really? Hmm, I always thought the drm was to protect against copying the media, that really prevents another media player from playing it?

(Yes, there are various programs around for un-DRMing iTunes media. I'm not sure how well any of them work.)
