I'm looking to convert a short section of dvd to an uncompressed avi. I'm a bit confused about which tool will work best for this. All I need is to read the ripped dvd directory and set the in out points (preferably visually).

Thanks

Per forum rules, you shouldn't ask what's best.

OK. One option if you have the decrypted VOBs already, is to open them in DGIndex (part of DGMPGDec), set your range and save project. Then make an Avisynth script to serve the video into VirtualDub, from which you can save an AVI. DGMPGDec comes with a quick start guide explaining all this in detail.

If your dvd is not a decrypted one, handbrake just can help u.
