Hello,

some hours ago I finished a conversion to 21,4 GB (when using the option to convert to 25 GB).

The resulting Blu-Ray works without any problems in PowerDVD. But will it also work on standalone BD players like the Samsung BDP 1600? Because I don't own one some of your experiences would be really interesting.

And another question: Why did BD-RB a shrinking to 21,4 GB but not to 24,5 ~ 25 GB?

Why not try the 'List of compatible standalone players' thread?

You can't get anything like 25Gb on a disc - there's also a margin built in to allow for the 'flaky' edges of some discs. If you want to increase the capacity use the Custom Size option.

Well for starters its not actually 25GB. Its japanese GigaBytes or 25.000.000 bytes = 23.5GB. BDRB compresses to an estimated 22.66 GB leaving a little room in case it turns out a little bigger. So even 24.5GBG would be too much :)

OK, I see :) Thanks for the explanation!
