make simple no menu avchd on DVD-R discs

Hello All,

I hope I am posting in the right place. I have a AVCHD camera and have finally found a no fuss reliable editing program in Corel Video Studio Pro X3 (that was a job!!).

However it wont make no menu avchd on DVD-R discs. I need this as the camera can only play these (HDC-SD5 with VW-BN1 burner).

It's nice to take the stuff over to friends to show them the stuff.

So the last piece of the puzzle is to make the avchd on DVD-R files and folder structure. Once I have these Nero will do the rest.

Corel outputs to 1920 x 1080i AVCHD and does not re-encode when it doesn't have to! Very pleasing. However it puts a .mpg extension on the resultant file. I don't know what that means.

So can any one point me to an app that will not re-encode and make the avchd on DVD-R files and folder structure? Should I be looking at multiAVCHD?

By the sound of your post it seems that your video is MPEG-2 (1920x1080i). Be advised that AVCHD format does not support MPEG-2 and some players may refuse to play the DVD-R disc.

It is odd. I select the AVCHD NTSC HD 1920 for the output file and the resultant file has an mpg file extension.

Viewing the file properties in multiAVCHD shows

video: V_MPEG4/ISO/AVC
Resotution: 1920x1080i (1.778)
Duration 00:02:35.000
Framerate: 29.97
Ref Frames: 2
Output: 11620kbps / 243MiB

So I'm confused.

Bad News!

Unfortunately tsMuxer does not make discs that will play on the HDC-SD5 with VW-BN1 burner.

tsMuxer finds the video and AC3 stream. It muxes to it's own satisfaction but the result will not play.

The ts Muxer input file is from an AVCHD disc that will play.

What is your PC's operating system?

If it's XP or earlier, you'll have to install a UDF 2.50 driver...

I am using Vista. Nero makes UDF 2.5 discs with success.

The burner accepts the disc folder format as correct but objects to the video file data format.

If I take a video file from a successful avchd disc and remux with tsmuxer the result is not accepted .

I think the problem is one of getting the tsMuxer options right. If possible I have to stop it adding things to the video file that the camera-player doesn't like.

Use the multiAVCHD with no menu option and VIERA output. Your Panasonic[s] are quite picky on the format. See also the thread on Panasonic players and the multiAVCHD one.
