Repair of VHS Dropouts

I have a 25 year old VHS tape which must be restored. I have played it on 2xS-VHS and 3xVHS VCR's, and this is the best capture:

I am looking to repair the dropouts, in the form of black/white lines and dots. I have used descratch to some effect, but I feel that 99% recovery should be possible.

Is there something better than fudging DeScratch?

Thanks for the reference. Note: removedirt requires the older version of removegrain, not version 1.0. After working past that hiccup, I found that the combination of DeScratch, RemoveDirt was quite effective, although there was some loss of detail, and some motion blur.
I also learned something new about capturing more effectively, however I am waiting to find out where to report this.

However, your video isn't normal noise removal. Probably a quarter to half of your signal is pure noise. You really need to see if a better VCR can be located, or maybe you'll need to get a VCR that you can "break" to misalign guides to match the misaligned recording.
