View Full Version : Would someone clarify use of Preview in Batch Mode?

Hello.

I've searched the forums for a bit looking for an answer to this, but have only found old posts from 2006, which may not be pertinent any longer.

I'm starting to use Batch mode (1.28.2). I often will take an individual movie rip and Prepare it in 3-click mode, then Preview it to blank out useless extras (movie previews) and to adjust compression on the rest of the extras, then decrease the compression of the main movie.

In Batch Mode, if I do this and save each project, then enable "Skip Prepare in Batch Mode", I can't load the preview back in to view to make certain the Batch Mode run is going to do what I planned. Is the Preview-adjusted version of the project going to be what Batch Mode runs?

Also, if I use variable bitrate redistribution, will I need to re-prepare before saving the project? Does that even help?

Thanks for the clarification.
Dan

Dan You have to do the prepare for each disc and remove/edit individually as you'd like. Do that BEFORE adding it to the batch queue. Then tell batch mode to skip PREPARE before you start it. The batch will do as it was told before you saved it. This was exactly why "Skip Prepare in Batch Mode" was created.

You can't stop and preview in batch mode, because the system is auto-running, you have to do all that before batch starts.
