640 x 352 movie; I want to keep the aspect ratio

How can I calculate resizing with a 640 x 352 divx movie.

I want to convert it to SVCD with AVI2SVCD And I want to conserve the proportion on my TV, with the black borders.

Please can someone explain me how to calculate it ?

Resize for SVCD can get confusing really fast. The way I like to think about it - though full-screen SVCD video is 480x480, it is 'resized' to the equivalent of 640x480 on playback. Just resize the height so the aspect would be correct for a width of 640, and you're golden.

So, for your source, it's really easy - just resize to 480x352 and add borders 64 pixels high top and bottom.
