MultiAVCHD and Blu Ray play Problems

I am using MultiAVCHD to make a compilation BD-R of recorded WWII footage and have followed the online tutorial but I cannot get it to play on my Blu Ray Player.

Here are my steps.

1. Start MultiAVCHD
2. Click on AVCDH/BDMV/DVD Folders Tab and add 10 .mkv files.
3. Author Tab has Stricter AVCDH Folder Format Ticked (Also tried unticked).
4. Everything else left as default.
5. Click Start
6. Let it build the folders BDMV, CERTIFICATE, HDAVCTN & files details.txt, multiAVCHD.log, multiAVCHD.mpf.
7. Burn all folders and files with IMGBURN
8. Put BD-R in BD Player and looks like it is going to play but then just stops with a blank screen.

Have I missed something here? My BD Player is a Panason DMP-BD35

I believe you only need the BDMV and CERTIFICATE folders, but the others should not be the issue. Did you make sure IMGBurn was using UDF 2.5 format?
Also, were these 10 .mkv files Blu-Ray compliant 1920x1080, 1280x720, or 720x480 if NTSC?
The Panasonic players can be finicky, so you could check the BD-RB thread for what others have done to make the different players work properly.

IMGBurn was set to UDF 2.5 and the .mkv files are 720p. If I just author it and set a destination folder it always automatically adds AVCHD Folder after my chosen location.

Use the Viera output, and not the AVCHD bzw. BluRay options. Good that you mentioned you own a Panny.

I still dont understand why I cant use the Output can be burned to BD-R/RE discs for playback in any Blu-ray player option. It never works on my Panny. Is this a general problem with BD35 or am I just doing it wrong?

You succeeded with [AVCHD strict] output, right?

I think it is related to the new menus in version 4.0. If you download version 3.0 of multiAVCHD you'd be able to use Blu-ray output mode.

Yes AVCHD Strict is fine. (What is AVCHD anyway?

Do you think version 3 will do the trick?

If you're seriously asking what AVCHD is: Advanced Video Codec - High Definition (and reading AVC you should read H.264 standard / part 10 I think).

If 3.0 will do the trick - :) all build of multiAVCHD do tricks - it is that most of them don't work :)

There was no preview open unless the window is hidden. The same process works okay on 32 bit windows 7 without the error about avisynth,ffdshow,haali. Are you checking registry for these and if so are you checking the correct registry keys on 64 bit windows (Wow6432Node)?

Thanks. I have downloded version 3 and I am no trying it with 3 .mkv files with menus. I do notice that the interface on version 3 is very slow in responding to mouse clicks compared to version 4. It's just annoying that V4 won't do the all blu rays option and only the AVCHD Static option will work. Does it really matter what way I go??:thanks:

Already getting errors with audio now. Damn I need to grasp this programme quickly so I sort of know what I am doing. I am still pretty new to the BD-R authoring process.

Well.. is ver 4.0 works for you - use it. It is not the beginner's type of application but once you spend few days with it you'll probably like it.

If I find the answer to that question I'll be happier than you. There is something in version 4.0 menus and Panasonics (and probably some other players) - they don't like it. :)

Being bit of a noob with this I am going to stick my neck out and say the following.

If I do AVCDH Strict with Menus and Chapters and just burn the folder AVCHD folder and all its contents it plays absolutely fine all sing and dancing.

The same if I just go into the AVCHD folder and just burn BDMV folder I have all bells and whistles.

BUT if I try to add a welcome screen the whole thing goes tits up and doesn't play at all.

I have not tried this method with the For all Bluy-ray players button. I will try that next and update.

If you tried these same methods/discs on a Sony, you would probably have 100% success. :cool:

Trouble is with me is I wont give up until I find a solution one way or another. I will keep updating. Whilst doing all this I am reading a book called The Compassionate Mind by Paul Gilbert and listing to Enigma. Very soothing I must say!!!:helpful:

Arghh! Still having problems with this trying to use MuiltAVCHD in any mode now @*&%@$£

Even Corel Windvd wont play them all the time. Very intermitant. What other Blu Ray playing software do users on here use. I have Media Classic Home Cinema but I don't really like that one too much and obviously Corel WinDVD/HD 2010

Ok I have the video sorted but I know have a sound issue.

I have 2 .mp4 files with AAC 6ch audio and 1 .mkv file with the same AAC 6ch audio. Once compiled and played back I can have sound on the first movie but on the 2nd and 3rd movies there is no sound. This was all played back through CyberLink PowerDVD 10.

In the Sub/Audio Tab and under the Audio Conversion Settings section I have the following:

Use eac3to (Ticked)
TrueHD/DTS-MA/HR 640kbps AC3 (Ticked)
Non-HD Audio to AC3 bitrate 384
AAC channel remapping 1,2,3,4,5

Everything else (Unticked)

Why will it play one movie's audio but not the other two?

Buy another BD Player. The Sonnies, as already mentioned in this thread, are one of the most compatible (fault tolerant :p) players around.

See above. Panasonic paid a lot of money for good reviews, but their players never reached the level of any Sony (and, remember, I hate Sony). Thanx to dean, people can produce now "special" disks that play on Pannies. Use that mode.
