DVD to DVD:

Edit: BTW I was even having this problem with Disc 1 (main movie)

dvdfab 6.2.1.8 didn't work.
UPDATE: installed 7.0.2.5 and it didn't work either, but I didn't uninstall first. Guess I'll try that.
UPDATE(2): uninstalled both, reinstalled 7.0.2.5, same problem. Scans the media, then goes blank, as if there's no disc in drive.

Here's an update from AnyDVD HD, which claims to decrypt New Moon.

- New (DVD): Added support for new protections, e.g. "New Moon", R1, US
- New: Improved compatibility of SetDisplayFrequency.exe with Windows 7

What's up what this??? This is ridiculous!!! I bought New Moon ($25) and all I want to do is back it up as a spare, and I can't even do that. I have DVD Fab and I can't get either version to work... I even tried disabling Pathfinder... no luck!!! I'll check back in tomorrow to see if any of you are up to the challenge. I'll do my best and let you know if I come with anything.

Try this... Use version 6.2.1.8 DVD Fab... Go to...
Common Settings (green check mark in upper right corner beside the question mark)... go to...
DVD (under Protection) and uncheck the following boxes...
Remove RC,
Remove RCE,
Remove UOPs,
Remove structure protection,
then click "OK"
then attempt to decrypt movie only (Chapter 1)
I have no idea what all these boxes were that I unchecked but I'm 45minutes into the movie and it seems to be working just fine.
Please let me know if it works for you guys...

I'll try the interesting approach described above later. I did have a kind of left-handed success using RipIt4Me. The resultant files still had a glitch of some kind, though, and wouldn't load into DVD-shrink. I wound up handling it the old fashioned way: taking the movie-only VOB set, creating new IFO's with IFOedit, doing a save/clean-up with pgcedit, and then shrinking it with dvd-shrink. Pain-in-the-___.
