Hi all,

This is my issue.
I created a BD with Scenarist.
Everything is working great except one small detail.
When i press a button on my menu, JUST before it execute the action, it dissapears. Its just for milliseconds but its noticeable because suddenly for an instant all you see is the background video.

Does anyone have any ideas? Could it be a software player bug? (I use Cyberlink Power DVD). Unfortunately i havent tried it on a standalone BD player.

Thanks.

There are 3 button states: normal, selected and active. It seems that the configuration for 'active' is not proper. I don't use scenarist, but you can check all three states properties.

Thanks for the answer deank but i do not see anything strange in the button states.
In SoundRef it has No sound, which is correct.
In Images it has 1, and in StillImageName it has the name of that button which is again correct.

There is this guy rik1138, who is a master with Scenarist - I guess he'll be able to help you.

You can test your disc in other players like TMT or a real BD player, just to be sure it is not a software bug.

Does it have that information for all 3 states? The easiest way to see what it's doing is to double-click on the button itself in the Data Tree (what you have highlighted to show the information you are mentioning above).

When you do that, you get a GUI style Button Info editor. In this, you can actually see the graphics it's using for the 3 states (you can enlarge the window to see the graphics better if need be). It's possible that you have a graphic, but it's actually transparent or one pixel in size or something. Check that and make sure you see a graphic (and the one you want) in each state. If one is missing completely, you can hold down CTRL and drag one of the others and it will copy it there (it will swap places with a graphic that's already there though, so be aware of that. Handy if you have two of then in the wrong places though).

Well rik, I dont see anything wrong there.
The only thing is the REPEAT option that exists in the Normal & Selected state but not on the Activated which is perfectly normal.
Other than that, I dont see anything wrong...

Have any other idea???

Thanks,

Do you just have a single image in each state, or are they animated buttons? That could be a factor too... If it's just a single image in each state, uncheck the Repeat option (it's not needed for one image)... I haven't done an animated button state in a while, I'll see if I can piece one together and see what it does...

Also, are the button graphics large? It could be a pixel buffer problem if they are huge buttons (like half the screen or something). Does this happen on more than one player?

Hi again rik.

Well, its not animated (so 1 pic for each state) so the repeat button is not activated and for sure not big. Imagine a START button with 60px in Photoshop.
Maybe tomorrow (if you agree of course) i'll send you a pm with my designer file to see if there is anything wrong there. I cannot think of anything else.

I suggested that you test your output in a NORMAL player (either burn to disc and test in a standalone player or use adequate software player like TMT, but NOT cyberlink or whatever you posted you're using).

Thanks deank,

I followed your advice and tried it to a standalone player and to Arcsoft TMT but i still have the same issue.
