Okay, so here's the deal. This is very important that this gets done. Kings is one of my favorite shows, but it was not very popular. It was released on DVD, but not on Bluray, even though it was new. However, it was released on Amazon Unbox in HD, and I bought it and have a legit license. I can play them back right now using Windows Media Player, but twice know I've had to call Amazon to have them reset my licenses. This is a pain, and I'm wondering if this DRM will work forever. In 10 years, will I be able to watch my favorite show in HD quality? The only way I can guarantee that is if I get rid of this pesky DRM. Now I have read up on it and tried quite a number of ideas, but none of them has worked. I will probably try doing it on an older computer and try and get the WMP version numbers correct and stuff. But I never hear about people having success with Amazon Unbox, I just hear about problems. Has anyone successfully stripped the DRM on an Amazon Unbox Video? And have they been able to do it recently, or has Amazon's DRM been updated since the latest release of the programs?
Another option would be to somehow reencode it. If it's playable on WMP, shouldn't it be possible to somehow capture the video in decent quality? I really want this video to be DRM free.
