Hello guys! I will much appreciate it, if someone tells me how I can change the container of my *.VCR video to *.AVI

So far I have done this:
1. Changed the filename manually (video.vcr -> video.avi). Actually it worked. But not as I wanted it to work. The video doesn't play, I have only sounds.
2. Tried AYA7, but this software has nothing to do with the container
3. Tried Any Video Converter - same as #2.

I understand that I need to demux the video from the *.vcr. And than remux it into an *.avi file.

PS: it's a private video, I cannot upload it to the web :(

Hi!

A simple Googlesearch for .vcr to .avi yielded the following:

Capture from an ATI card?
.vcr is a proprietary wrapper for MPEG content.

setarip_old, thank you, but my videocard isn't an ATI. It's an integrated one.

Any other ideas?

lordsmurf, sure. I understand that, but right now I have another PC with integrated graphix card.

Then, no, you can't open it again. It's proprietary.

(Sounds like the codecs may work with other-than ATI hardware)
