I use to export Mini-DV footage after editing with Premiere CS4 with the following settings:
Basic settings:
Multiplexing: MP4
Stream compatibility: iPod
Video:
Mainconcept H264
PAL 720x567 Progressive
25FPS
Pixel Aspect Ratio: Square pixels
Profile: Baseline
level: 3.0
VBR, 1 pass
Target bitrate 1
Max. bitrate 1,4
Audio:
AAC
Stereo
48.khz
Audio Quality: High
Bitrate: 128
Precedence: Bitrate
And, taking the source material into regard these settings deliver great results with affordable file sizes.
But now comes the funny part. The resulting MP4 plays great in: MPC, FLV, even WMP. But not (yes with a lot of flickering) in QT (latest version). And all on the same PC with all the neccessary codecs. I haven't got a clue why this is. It's not a big deal, only when I want to sent files to people with Mac only there might be a problem. When I use the Mainconcept H264 for my full HD footage export from CS4 QT works fine.
Anybody able to enlighten me?
