Some question about xvid....

1)Does it use the DivX 4.12 Direct filter?

2)I did an encoding at Blade Runner with Xvid and it came too dark compared with DivX 3.11(but less blocky)..Why is that?

3)The first pass stats is the file where you generate the stats for the first pass.When I am doing tha second pass where I load my stats at the first pass or the second pass??(A little lame question :rolleyes: )

I used GKnot to calc my stats..

My pages seem to be working to me??? What browser were you using.... If you use Internet Explorer and use the left mouse button, you should be ok.

Does anyone know a better (hassle free) place for me to up them?

Hmmm. Ive tried f2s before & its pretty bad too. You used left button in IE6 & it didn't download??? Thats real bad...Is anyone else having problems?...Ill look for an alternate site.

we've put together a quick guide/how-to for Xvid - it's the thread at the top of the forum-page.

your questions:
1) yes, currently XviD uses the DivX4-decoder filter by default. You can also try XviD's own DSF, but it's not perfect yet, so you better wait.

2) untill now I haven't realized any differences in brightness between the two codecs. Could it be that you use different brightness-settings in the DivX3.11 and DivX4 playback filters?

3) 2nd-pass .stats into the 2nd-pass-field
