Encoding interlaced/progressive

Is there a possibility in x264 to have an option wich trig the following pattern :
'I'm obliged to produce an interlaced video stream for blu-ray compliancy, but in reality my video is progressive...'
Is it some kind of patch someone can possibly do ??

The Blu-ray spec defines "interlaced" as "frame_mbs_only_flag == 0".

Implementing the case where frame_mbs_only_flag == 0 and all macroblocks are progressive would require adaptive MBAFF support, the single most difficult extension possible for x264 within the bounds of H.264/AVC. There's at least a $10k-$20k+ bounty for this.

(It could in theory be done with only a partial subset of adaptive MBAFF, but probably a significant subset.)

Nothing stopping you from coding the progressive material using interlaced mode. You'll have reduced compression efficiency of course.
