Getting undersized result with Avi.Net

So I'm trying new tools replace autogk.
I tried the avi.net 3.1 that just came out. I set size to 2Gb and HQ mode for max quality. The resulting file was 774MB and looked horrible. Am I doing something obviously wrong here?

did you try with the size gived by Avi.NET?

or maybe the source is incomplete, i mean the vob files are not complete

I'm having the same issue, although the resulting files look fine. But I choose 1400 MB as the size and it comes out at about 700 MB. The VOB is complete so there's no reason I should be so far away from my target size.

I have no problems with size and quality at all with avi.net I generally choose 1/3rd DVD as my preferred size and and that's what it produces every time. I also us HQ and a bit of sharpening depending on the original quality.

Sorry for not replying earlier, was unaware of the original post, the AVI 'size' problem is answered within the 'problems' section of the avi.NET website. Here's a snippet:

avi.NET must have the correct version of XviD installed. Failure to do so will result in incorrect conversions, the filesizes will be wrong by quite a margin. avi.NET uses player profiles when converting to ensure standalone playback compatibility, this is very important, you must use the correct version of XviD and on occasions, other programs, especially codec packs and other conversion type programs will over write your current XviD version with theirs, and usually without you even knowing. The latest version of avi.NET must have v1.2.1 or v1.2.2 of the XviD codec installed.
