I tried to encode something to XviD AND run x264 launcher together on my quad core processor. I'm running a avisynth heavy script on x264 launcher with avs2yuv, and it only uses about 30% of my CPU, so I ran XviD simultaneous to use the other 70% of my CPU.
Without x264 launcher running, XviD's speed is around 52fps at 65% CPU usage.
With x264 launcher running, XviD's speed drops to 3.5fps at 65% CPU usage as well.
