I've got a DVD source that I'm trying to encode to x264 with MeGUI / AviSynth. Below are some screens from the source. There's a ridiculous amount of blocking (and more?) that I can't seem to get rid of. I tried SmoothD and MDeblock filters that don't seem to much of anything. I was wondering if anyone has seen something like this and if there were some suggestions. Thanks!

Your source has been cropped (716px width, instead of 720). When using a deblocking filter, do crop only after the deblocking. Not before!

Deblocking with FFT3D instad of a "true" deblocking filter ...
vinverse()
fft3dfilter(sigma=6,sigma2=2.51,sigma3=1.51,sigma4=1,bw=16,bh=16,ow=8,oh=8,bt=1)
Tune the sigma's to liking.
