How to extract BMP frames from MP2 ?

Hi
I use digital video for highres planetary astrophotography.
What is the best way (highest quality) to extract the individual frames from MP2 640X480 to BMPs ?
The best that I've managed thus far is using Doom9 to conver the MP2 into AVI 400X216 RGB no deconmpresion (higher res (640X480) don't appear to work). I then use Videodub to extract the BMPs from the AVI.
Is there a better way to extract best resolution BMP frames ?

I think the best way is to use PowerDVD and his screenshot feature
