I have Windows 7 (which means DirectX 11 6.01: I've run dxdiag to check). I'm trying to Play Civilization 4: Beyond the Sword Expansion. I can run the vanilla version and the Warlords expansion of the game but not the BTS version which is the most up-to-date. When I try to run it I get an error message saying that "d3dx9_33.dll was not found" and suggests that I reinstall the game. I have done some searches on the issue and have found that reinstalling the game is not necessary and that I should install DirectX 9 but it seems that is impossible for Windows 7 users. Is there a solution? Thanks!

Yes, just go ahead and install, this actually happens on quite a few games, I used to get it with Vista too, I think the games just need a few of the DX9 files.
If you bypassed the DirectX 9 installation during the game install, just look on the disk, you can usually find the required DX9 setup files there. They wont destroy your later DX.
