View Full Version : Syncing ac3 to video - 1 min gap towards the beginning

When I try to mux an ac3 taken from a dvd rip using DVD Fab 6 into a x264 mkv made by MeGUI I get what looks like a heavy 1-3 minute audio sync issue _after_ the first few seconds.

The movie is Everything is Illuminated, and it looks synced during the first few seconds as the Warner Brothers logo comes up and the piano theme does it's thing, but then after there are a few warning-copy write-fbi type things warning that come up and it's as if the audio stream stops during them because after that the audio is off by a minute or two.

Does this sounds like 'normal' behavior for a rip? What's the best way to sync it when it starts on point but gaps out later in the stream? (if that's possible or if the ac3 rip is still good in this state).

Thnx all for listening,

bd

Welcome to the forum,

Not if you decrypt it properly to begin with. Start over, this time getting just the movie rather than the entire DVD. Alternatively, with the entire DVD on the hard drive, get the VOBs for just the movie by opening the IFO in PGCDemux and demuxing only the PGC with the movie with just 'Create a PGCVOB' checked. Take note if there's an audio delay you'll have to account for later.

There's no reason for for getting the logo and warning, which will throw off the audio synch as you discovered.

Word. PGCDemux worked like a charm. Thank you.
