Encoding Avi to Mp4

Hello, I am hoping somebody on Doom9 can help me with my situation :)

I have some AVI files, mostly they are all the same but there are a few which have different resolutions and mostly all of them have different bit rates but they are all XviD encoded with Mp3 audio.

I want to encode them all to H.264 and AAC audio and stick them into Mp4 containers. I've been using AviDemux and messing with Handbrake and even some programs like [spam removed]. However, having about 80 AVI files it's very time consuming to go through them all and select the specific bit rates for every single file. I don't want to lose any quality but don't want to increase the file size (at least not any more than a few megabytes) if I can help it.

Is there any program or perhaps using some sort of CLI I can do a bulk encode of a folder which simply takes the input data and just encodes it to the exact same thing except in H.264? I don't want to have to set any settings like bit rate, file size, or quantizers. Just have it all "as input" or "auto" or something of that sort.

It's most likely I don't understand exactly how encoding works but I am hoping this is possible.

What are the AVI files and where did you get them?

I ask due to your rule 6 history.

They are actually my friends episodes of Family Guy, he has the seasons on DVD and I ripped them to AVI following a tutorial on YouTube. I would just rip them to H.264 using FairUse or something but I don't have access to the DVDs anymore. He moved to a different city. I hope this isn't in violation of the rule.

Obviously it's a rule 6 violation.

Since you were honest I won't strike you, but you'd better study the rules, because this is two threads you've had closed now, and we're going to expect you to FOLLOW THE RULES. You need to have obtained your source material legitimately, that means you bought and own the DVD or BluRay.
