DAEMON is needed for DVD-RE?

I have to keep DAEMON lite for DVD-RB to operate properly, right? I only ask because I use IMG burn for burning BD and it says"

You don't need Daemon. Check this out, read thru to last post.

I went to the DuplexSecure site, downloaded the latest version, and chose to uninstall it. I have not had any problems on my end. :)
