What am I missing? I have been backing up DVDs for some time now. I use AnyDVD to rip and Nero to encode and burn. Recently I began to look at backing up Blu-Ray. I want to just back up the movie only onto a BR Disc that will play in a BR DVD Player.I have up dated all my programs to rip HD and BR. And also downloaded all the programs needed to re encode and burn.
Started with AnyDVD HD and ripped a BR disc to a folder I named Blu-Ray. Found a folder in there with a file called " Stream" with the movie file I wanted to BackUp in it. File name is 0001. Next I used mutiAVCHD and transcoded the file to fit on a standard Blu-Ray disc (25GB). Burned the transcoded file with Nero 8 with HD acticavted on Nero. Burns the disc but the burned copy will not play in a stand alone BR player. I can view the file on the computer and it seems to play ok.
I know I'm missing the part where the file is setup into a file structure that will play in a standard Blu-Ray player. But where is it?

You can't simply burn files and get a player to play your disc. You need to follow the instructions in the software you used. Basically when burning discs you need to burn BDMV folder - do not alter its contents in any way.

Dean, Thank you for the reply. I'll read the guide again and retry it. I think I understand it better now.

Also, if you use IMGBurn to burn the compilation, it will setup the proper udf 2.50 format for Blu-Ray or AVCHD.

Got it now. I was using just the movie file and not the folder. Works much better when you use the folder...LOL
