No A/V in VD with WinTV7

I am very new to capturing. I have WinTV-PVR-150 OEM MC-Kit plus WinTV7 installed with it to view tv on my pc.

The problem is that i am unable to get neither video nor audio on virtualdub capture avi mode. I went through google but was unable to find any solution so came here for help.

So kindly help me out and just one more query as i have analog capture what will be the raw a/v bit rate that i can expect for later on encoding them. When i captured .ts source with wintv7, it was ~5mbps.

I'm not sure that card is capable of recording AVI, nor if it will work in VirtualDub.
That's a PVR card, it was made for MPEG TV recording, and that's really it. It has an MPEG hardware chipset.

The WinTV cards were made for the Hauppauge software, and a few 3rd-party PVR programs.

Hauppage is a relabeller, maybe searching for the OEM would help.
Not all Hauppages have an onboard MPEG-encoder, so AVI-capturing would be possible.

Currently, what i am doing is that .. i use the wintv7 application given on the happauge's official site and then set best setting for capture in it. It captures at ~5mbps and later i re-encode it with the help of megui.

That card can capture at 15Mbps for Full D1 -- I suggest you do that for best quality, if re-encoding later.
