Hinting a Mp4 file

Was just wondering if anyone how this is done. Ive encoded some mp4 clips and would like to add a hint file. I also have sorenson 6.0 squeeze but ive found it doesn't encode as well as Vegas. Is there anyway i can add a hint file after i encode? or somehow do it in Vegas ? any info would be much appreciated.

Furthermore if you are encoding MPEG4 AVC/H.264 try x264.

Is it known to have a vista issue? im having some problems opening up the mp4 file to hint. Seems to work on m XP machine but i really need it to work in Vista. Man i gotta install windows 7 on this thing :(
