Hello!

I have some avi-files with Xvid codec but the DVD-Player only supports DivX.

I wondering how to convert without losing any quality and make it playable on the DVD-Player?

I read something about FourCC Changer. Is this the way to go?

It's probably more threads about this out there but I can't find among all search-results.

Changing FourCCs to "DX50" or "DIVX" with Nic's FourCC Changer indeed might help. It's worth a try.

The program is included in this ZIP file (http://jawormat.republika.pl/XviD_122.zip) (no need to install anything, just run AviC.exe).

Thank you!

But I can't understand how to change it to DivX?

It looks like this:

Ok, I will give it a try!

Now I have changed it to "DIVX". Just have to check if the player likes it. But I can't do it right now because the player isn't here. Maybe I can test it tomorrow. I'll be back and tell if it works.

MPEG-4 Modifier can't change the FourCC, but it can change the "user data" strings.

Try adding (with the "+" button) the following string:
DivX503b1393p
The string should end with "p" only if it says "Packed Bitstream: Yes" in the MPEG-4 Modifier window. It may be also necessary to remove the "XviD0037" string with the "-" button. Then you need to use the "Save" button to save the result to a new file (MPEG-4 Modifier doesn't change the original file).

Thanks! It works with Nic's FourCC Changer!
