Windows movie maker issues

Help!
Last week I made and edited some AVI files and saved them on my computer. This week I just tried to edit them again and I have big issues. What happens is I will launch video maker it comes up. When I import a video it will put the icons on the work area but I get a GREEN screen on the player and it locks up my computer, my only solution is to power down and reboot the computer. I tried several different files and the same results occur.
Is there a way I can reinstall video maker and if so where can I get a download?
I did not receive any software when I purchased the computer. It was already installed.

I am running XP.

Any ideas?

It's weird. I again tried to load some video's.

I was able to load and edit some videos that were NOT created by Movie Maker.

However, if I tried to load the collections or any saved video from movie maker it hangs.

So my conclusions is that the flies I created with movie maker are the ones that are causing it to lock up.

Don't know why, If I play them by using any one of several video players they play fine.

it happaned on my pc too.
when i try to edit a sound file in WMM, it freeze my computer.
I think that's wmm's problem.
btw, if you can not import videos to WMM, you should check the video format first. only avi and wmv can be edit in WMM.

WOW, someone else has my problem, usually it is just me.

That just dosent sound right, hope there is a fix for it.

OK, I loaded Gspot on my system and then loaded the file. NOw for the screen capture. I dont have a snapshot or screen capture program. Now here is the file on my server that you could load into your Gspot?

the aboves is the output file from Movie Maker


The initial avi files were created by a video camera then transfered onto my hard drive. The files can be played on any of my video players and yes, they were playable after I edited them in Movie Maker.

Please advise if I can give you anymore info.

I dont have a snapshot or screen capture program.
Alt + PrintScreen grabs the foremost window, then open Paint and click Edit > Paste, then you can save and post that image.
