Hi,
Ok, this is driving me nuts. My set up is: LCD monitor is my primary display (DVI), and HDTV is secondary (HDMI). All was running perfectly. I've just bought a new monitor, plugged it in, turned on PC and all I got was the desktop background. The start button and desktop icons were on the TV - and the TV wasn't even switched on. I switched the TV on and they switched round as they should be, with the Start button and icons on the monitor. As soon as I turn the TV off again, they swap round again and all I get is the desktop background on my monitor! The only workaround I have is to unplug the TV from the PC.
In Windows display properties it says my TV is display 1, and my monitor is display 2, even though the monitor is correctly set as the primary display! In CCC, they are correctly identified, monitor is display 1, and TV is display 2.
Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this craziness? Does anyone know how to make Windows correctly identify my monitor as display 1, and my TV as display 2, as CCC does?
This is on Windows 7, with an ATI 4550, running extended desktop mode.
Update: If I go back to my original monitor, everything works as it should. Nuisance.
