I didn't figure out yet how to calculate those SCR values.
This makes me big headakes.
Without DVD specification papers, it's pretty hard to get further.
Right now I don't have clue when I will get this to work.

I am quite new to this whole thing, but there might me someone out there who might be of help in solving this problem...

... would you mind giving us a basic primer of the problem? (along with some background information) - someone could possibly know or try something that would be of help. (i.e. what ifoEdit does with the .m2v file when remuxing with the .vob files, what seems to be the problem in remuxing different GOP structures, etc...) as I understand the problem so far, it seems like that the hold-up is that rempeg keeps the same GOP structure of the original movie, while CCE and others don't... what if there was a way to get just the "I" frames and somehow "translate" those to the original GOP structure? (I might be saying that doesn't make any sense...)

Someone told me about the 'Templates' feature in TmpgEnc, that may contain the GOP structure for every Sequence.

So I had an idea, to implement a new button into IfoEdit, that will create that Template-file for Tmpg.

This way it should be possible to transcode a movie with Tmpg too.
What do you think ?

I actually had thought about it... but seemed like too much work to manually enter all the sequences, but if you could get it done automatically in ifoEdit, you might be unto something!

Let me know what you get and am sure a lot of us will be more than glad to "beta" it for you!

Yea, to enter all the sequences manually is a mess.

But it's very quickly implemented into IfoEdit. I just need to scan the video-stream for I,P,B pictures, and put them into a .txt file for Tmpg.

That's done very quickly. Expect the beta for testing this weekend.

Great News - keeping fingers crossed (Rempeg is really a Pain to use)

1) Don't you think the problem is due to a bad Multiplexing, not due to a bad video Encoding?
(I'm saying this because the m2v encoded files runs smoothly by itself, without audio)
(And I had this synch problems too when I ripped dvds to svcd, maybe the problem is caused by the same reason in both cases)


2) What happen if I Multiplex (a encoded from vob) TMPGEnc m2v file and original ac3 stream into a Standard mpeg-2 file using TMPGEnc (and loosing original streams id structure)?
It will have bad video/audio sync when running in any mpeg-2 player? (without ifo information)


3) Is there any utility for (De)multiplexing (m2v, ac3 and subpictures) streams for a dvd compliant vob file?

A lot of questions here (sorry for my ignorance)...
