@stinman,
I'm happy you are here again. I never understand what flac decoding over the network or USB device as only audio means either? Flac is not an official format, and it is off the spec. and it cannot be bitsreamed in this case.
But as for the comparison of ffdshow with lavaudio:
No diifference between both filters in bitstreaming but there is a difference in passthrough; you have to select the sample rate of the original audio in ffdshow manually every time while lavaudio automatically selects it as is. This is why i prefer Lavaudio.

OK I see now.I almost bought a pioneer vsx-1121-k, it claims it will decode flac music files over the network.I think Denon does to but not sure.I'm going to have to convert all my music if I want to play it without being logged in to the desktop.

My friend, all those stuff; "my AVR is able to decode flac", is only a commercial trickery. It is fake.
If flac is not an official format and if I need an HTPC to pass flac over it, why do i need any other decoder? I think madflac would be the the better choice in this case. (I would have the chance of streaming the video and the audio together.)

Receivers support decoding FLAC, but only from network or file sources, bitstreaming them is not supported, because HDMI does not have a specification for streaming FLAC.

At least in Onkyo AVRs USB and NET media connections use DAC > ADC > DSP path (according to SM). And USB/NET DAC chip is worse than HDMI DAC chips (PCM1794 vs PCM1796). So HDMI seems like the best path.

Do you have a link for this? Sorry, I don't know who SM is.

Do you have a link for this? Sorry, I don't know who SM is.SM - Service Manual. Those findings above come frome electrical scheme. Here is the SM for 1007 (http://depositfiles.com/files/jxjiv0ugx) if you like to check by yourself. Here (http://forum.ixbt.com/post.cgi?id=attach:61:557:2525:1) and here (http://forum.ixbt.com/post.cgi?id=attach:61:557:2496:1) are the few key parts of scheme.

Is there any disadvantage when I set Reclock to force 30fps?
Because 24fps doesn't make much sense with 60Hz display.
I'm pretty new to Reclock.
Can anyone explain to me why there's no effect when I e.g. choose 30fps but the video has 60?
Configure "speed" as "original speed" while Reclock is running.

Hey, Guys!
I apologize if this is in the wrong thread but since you were talking about HD audio, I'd figured I'd give it a shot. :o
I'm very new to HTPC media playback so please bare with me. I am working with MPC-HC and ffdshow with my Windows 7 64-bit custom PC to get my receiver to display and passthrough DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD. I have my ffdshow settings as shown in the screenshot below but I'm just getting LPCM. I know it's basically the same thing, it's just that I want to see my beloved DTS-HD and TrueHD smiling back at me in my receiver display window. ;)

Any help would be truly appreciated. Thank you much.

Untick "correct as PCM first".
And tick "32 bit integer".

I am using ReClock with LAV filters but have been unable to get bit-perfect playback. Is it because I am letting LAV create a stereo downmix through its mixer?
Also, I am primarily using ReClock for WASAPI output. Does it make sense to turn all of its video functionality off? I'm worried that it has a detrimental effect on video quality.
