mkv segment linking: 2 problems with chapters and timecode

hi,

i'm using the segment linking function in mkvmerge to link the episodes of a series. first i create mkv file with makemkv from the dvd (every episode in a single file), then i use the header editor to link the files. makemkv also creates chapter files from the dvd. when i play such a file without linking i can jump to a chapter. after linking the files, the cahpter files will be ignored, i can jumo to the next file (segment), but thats it. is it possible to use the chapters in linked files?

the second problem: when i play the first file, the player shows the play time of all linked files. but i just want to see the play time of the episode (the file/the segment) the player plays at the moment. when the next episode starts, i want to see the play time if these episode. how can i realize this?

1.) It should be possible, but it's not easy. Read this (http://www.mod16.org/hurfdurf/?p=8).
2.) That should be done on the player side, though I don't know any player that does that. Ask the author of your player if he would be willing implement this.
