Does any one have firsthand knowledge of the level of compatibility and/or limitations of the SONY BDP460 vis-a-vis BD Rebuilder - most specifically regarding its ability to playback BD-RB-created full discs (Including all menus, extras, etc.) burned to DVD5s (BD5s) and/or DVD9s (BD9s)? Thank you.

There's a post (compatibilty thread) in which someone said that the N460 didn't work on BD-5/9 except for AVCHD movie only. [edit] Read down starting at from this post (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1349264#post1349264).

Thank you ;>}
(I don't understand why my search of this sub-forum didn't bring that up)

I'm really disappointed in that player. I was hopeful it was a S360 repackaged with NETFLIX playback capability, but Sony decided to screw the pooch on it...

An associate of mine got it as a "freebie", with the purchase of a SONY LCD and asked me if I wanted it.
My answer (after reading the post you directed me to), was "No thank you" - and I suggested he see if he can either trade-up or trade "down" (to a 360)

Thanks:) The only advantage to a 550 or 360 over an N460 is if you want to shrink BDs down to DVD discs as a full-backup. If you're doing nothing but BD-25 backups or movie-only (AVCHD), then you're probably just as well off with the 460.

The BDP-S550/560 isn't much more then the BDP-S350/360 with the addition of analog 7.1 outputs. It would seem you already have the best of both worlds... or at at least a good balance.

The BDP-S560 also has built in wi-fi access.
