Banding question

I think I may be about to make a fool of myself so please be gentle...

I've been reading up on banding and using GradFun2DBmod to reduce it. Everything that I've read refers to it as "colour banding" but I am working with black and white material, are we then, in this case, talking about the number of greyscale steps?

I'd appreciate a bit of clarification.

No. It reduces banding regardless of whether or not it's in black or white or color. Did you even try using gradfun2dbmod on your black and white source just to see if it would work?

Yes, it will work for greyscale clip ;)

But, for faster processing (no need to change chroma), use this: GradFun2DBmod(...,thrC=1.0,strC=0.0,...)
