Installed Lagarith - can't playback in MPC-HC?

I can encode to Lagarith fine, and also play it back in Avisynth, (and I think TMPgenc Xpress) just fine. But if I try to open a Lagairth video with Media Player Classic Home Cinema, it gives me a (filtergraph?) error.

I'm using Windows 7 x64, is there anything special I should be doing? I didn't see any special notes when I downloaded the installer, that I can recall.

edit: Here's the error output.. if it tells anything important.. Also, I wonder if this shouldn't be moved to software players? Apologies if so. Never had a codec not playback before.

It's lossless, so you won't get any corruption, if that's what you're asking. I don't know about efficiency and signaling (TFF/BFF) though.

Ok, that worked.. That's real annoying. Obviously I ticked it because I didn't want it to upsample.

What exactly does it upsample too? RGB or something?

I've always tried to leave colorspaces alone because the different terminologies always end up confusing me, especially between YUV/YUY2/YV12. Plus It seems unnecesarry conversions can both harm performance and picture quality, at least that's what I've invariably read around here I think..

I've debated just storing everything in RGB since my WDTV Live has an RGB support mode too, and that's all my stuff is really viewed on, aside from the PC.

That's only for output. It doesn't support any type of video stored in RGB colorspace, as far as I can tell.

I've only found the configuration available using VirtualDub, under the Video->Compression list. Lagarith Lossless Codec will be listed there (if installed) and the "Configure" button can be pressed.

Indeed, a separate configuration settings program like available with other codecs would be nice. But it might be because its VFW, the directshow codecs seem to have separate settings programs like ffdshow, etc.

I've found the only directshow decoder with full Lagarith support is the LAV Video decoder and that would be used if installed by directshow players like media player. Using the LAV decoder it supports YV12 so you don't have to uncheck the configuration option to force upsampling to RGB.
