As the title goes...I want to improve avisynth scripts for better ripping.
I use Megui for ripping movies from DVDs & DVDrips.
How can I improve the clarity of the video?
How can I upscale a movie from a lower resolution to higher resolution with improving the clarity of the video? Source: DVDrip.
I have gone through many posts here for improvement avisynth script. But I being a new to this field and lack of knowledge in script I cant use those tough scripts described here.
Please help.

Hard to say without knowing your process ;)
Clarity will be improved by keeping all horizontal lines and transcoding with x264 and storing in a forced Aspect ratio container like MKV (so you don't waste bits by encoding artifically increased pixels, and you don't lose detail by dropping horizontal lines) ... MeGUI has a "Clever Anamorphic" mode that works quite well for preserving the most detail possible ...

Better done on playback really with something like FFDShow with Avisynth scripts ... If really wanting to encode the upscale, just use a script based on EEDI/NEEDI upscalers ...

Scripts aren't hard, you read the requirements, read the input parameters, then play with them in something like AvsP so that you can see the results instantly ...

First, read our announcement:

It's found at the top of this very same Newbies Forum. Second, if the source is a DVDRip, that tells me you're using an illegally downloaded movie as a source. You have one day to convince me in words and with a sample, either in this thread or privately by PM, that I shouldn't lock this thread and issue you a strike. I request that unless and until niru7206 responds, no one else post in this thread.

Sorry. It was beyond my knowledge that DVDrip is an illegal source. I use to rip movies for my personal use from my personal collection of DVDs. Recently I have downloaded some DVDrip movies from different forums. Anyway, its my fault. Thanks for warning and not banning. Plz close or lock or modify the thread if you think fit. Thanks...

OK, and that's why this is the Newbies Forum where we're sometimes more lenient than in other forums. I'll just close this and not issue a strike.
