I have got a weird brightness problem during playback of my avis.
I use DVD2AVIv1.76 Gknot avisynth - divx4 do not alter the brightness settings multiplex with ac3.
My story:
When I open my avi with WMP (whatever version) the video seems darker. If I open ANY DIVX video with ANY player, stop this player and without closing it open the avi I created then the brightness is ok BUT the colors seem to have faded. If I open the first time the avi with WMP and set brightness to 56-58, then brightness and colors are OK!!
I compare the video I see, with 1.the original video from the VOBs (Power DVD4-original profile) and 2.the video from VirtualDub. As for VirtualDub, if I open the video (whatever time!) the quality is the same as PowerDVDs.
I belive that it is not a problem of the ripping-encoding procedure but of the playback filters. They tend to get screwed up.
If I add: Levels(0,1.000,255,0,255) to my .avs I get the same effects as above. If I add Levels(0,1.200,255,0,255) or something similar to 1.2 the playback of the video seems ok BUT that avi in VirtualDub is brighter than the VOBs from PowerDVD.
Something else: I used both fast recomp. and full procce. modes and both gave me the same quality someone had said that fast recom. tends to darken videos not true for me!
I am open to any suggestions I have to find a solution
Does anyone thing that I am doing something wrong while ripping-encoding?
Which picture quality should I belive? VirtualDubs or WMPs?
Should I try to format-reinstall everything to get things back to normal?
Should I keep encoding without the Levels command or should I correct it using 1.2 for ex?
My problem may seem stupid, but I really have a problem
