Blu_ray Decrypting

I have been backing up my DVDs for some time now using DVDFab and playing them on my Mvix HD780. However, now I want to do the same thing with my Blu-Ray discs using my new Mvix Ultio that is capable of playing ".m2ts" files. I did not have a problem with District 9 because it had one very large file that contained all the necessary data to play the movie. But the Gamer Blu-ray disc uses multiple files. How do I determine which playlist ".mt2s" file to use or do I need to do more with the files? Any assistance would be much appreciated...Thanks!

Hi!

Others will speak of using "Clown GUI" plus "eac3to" plus (NOT freeware) "anydvd".

What I find to be a simple method is to use ("one-click" and presently freeware) MakeMKV to rip the BluRay and convert the (as you indicate you want to have) movie-only to a single .MKV file.

Then load the .MKV into tsMuxeR and set it to "M2TS". In 5 or 10 minutes, you'll have your single .M2TS file...

Your recommended procedure worked fine. The only problem is that picture scrolling is not smooth - it's kind of "herky-jerky". I don't have this problem when I play the movie through my Panasonic Blu-ray player. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem or why it is doing this would be much appreciated...Thanks again!

I initially thought the Ultio might be the problem, but I played District 9 on it without any problems.

all I needed to use was MakeMKV. It works the same with either a MKV file or a M2ts file made with tsMuxRTry again loading the .MKV into tsMuxeR, but select "BluRay" rather than "M2TS".

This will create a full BluRay "package", which will include one .M2TS file in the "Streams" sub-folder. You can then load that .M2TS file into your Mvix Ultio.

Other than that, I have no further suggestions. I don't own an Mvix Ultio and I haven't (yet) purchased the "Gamer" BluRay disc.

I can only tell you that I've never experienced "herky jerky" motion when viewing any MakeMKV-ripped BluRay discs that originally contained multiple .M2TS files comprising the main movie...

**EXPERIMENT** For kicks and giggles, use MakeMKV to create an .MKV file from your "District 9" BluRay disc - and see if it plays back properly.

Then use tsMuxeR to convert that .MKV file to .M2TS format - and see if it plays back properly.

mt2s is the main movie file, i think u just need to rip the m2ts file,

Setarip_old is right on... you are on the right track.

I would try and play the makemkv mkv with other players to see if you have the jerky issue. If not then its your player and mkv...
