menu editing - png files?

is it just a case of opening the png files and changing what you want or are the checks made in the java code against the png file to see if its been tampered with? diffrent file sizes etc?

You can modify them but be careful not to make the new text too long or too tall, because it will be cut to the size of the old one. Scripts do that.
