playing transport steam file with "tp" extension

hi mates,

does anyone of you can watch *.tp files on windows media player?
I know for sure that I can easily play all *.ts files because I have installed ffdshow and haali media splitter, but I can't play my .*tp files...why??

Hi!

Typically, the software you use to create a file will either include needed codecs and/or player for playback, or will clearly indicate what is required for playback. If not, you can always playback your original source material.

What software did you use to create this .TP file? What was your original source material?

Windows Media Player belongs to the least popular players here, most popular here is MPC-HC which isn't bad, there aren't great alternatives, maybe VLC, KMPlayer, SMPlayer, Zoom Player, there are many others, non that impresses me like a application like MediaMonkey, DVBViewer or VisualStudio. Should be fair to say it's difficult to built players and filters and there are many different interests. What powerful applications like MediaMonkey, DVBViewer or VisualStudio have is automation and extensibility, something most if not all players lack, sorry about the rant.

those .tp files I was trying to play back came belong my TVIX M-6600. It's a stand alone personal video recorder.

If you want to find specific info, you have to go there, where the people are knee-deep in the knowledge.
