View Full Version : AutoMKV Problems

Firstly, not sure if this is the right place to post this, if not, I apologise.

I'm having trouble encoding with AutoMKV. I've been converting all my Seinfeld DVDs to mp4s with X264 and Nero AAC. Using DVD Decrypter, I copied most of the episodes onto my hard drive (with a few exceptions which came from the Chinese copies I have) and they all converted fine.

For the few that I couldn't rip, I used SmartRipper instead. Unfortunately, the .VOB files that are now on my hard drive won't convert properly. Here is the log.

I can see from the temp folder that the audio seems to be extracted form the VOB without any problems, but movie.d2v in only 167kb.

Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

EDIT: I forgot to add, I've recently upgraded to Windows 7 and I believe this is the first thing I've tried to encode.

I don't think AutoMKV is getting supported any more.

Maybe time to upgrade to HDConvertToX (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=145577).

@typhoon_2099

HI!

Try re-ripping your problematic original DVDs with (freeware) DVDFabHD Decrypter...

I'll try HDConvertToX. I tried DVDFab and the audio/video was out of sync. Couldn't explain it. If you skipped in in MPC it played fine, but if you played it from the beginning the audio was about a minute off. Very annoying.

EDIT: HDConvertToX doesn' seem to be working. I'll try ripping the VOBs again with DVDFab and see what happens.

I'll install CCCP and avisynth, haven't bothered with CCCP yet since Windows 7 recognises most video files from the get-go.

I think I've fixed it, but for some reason the answer was to manually demux the VOB with the DGIndex program from AutoMKV's exe folder. I've ripped a dozen or so episodes so I'll just demux them all to save me ripping them again or whatever it is I need to do to properly fix. This entire problem I think comes from the protection on the DVD screwing up random episodes for me.

I can't really explain it so I'm gonna take my money and run.

Thanks for the help though!
