I'm trying to convert my dvd 5.1 audio tracks to Nero HE-AAC 5.1.
I'm having a few problems with it "crashing out" "error while encoding frame"
I am using Ac3filter as my decoder and have selected 3/2.1 as the "output" When I load the AC3 and look at the decoder, I can see all channels working, including the LFE.
If I attempt to encode into Nero HE-AAC it will crash out.
If i change the decoder to 5/2 when the MEgui log says it is encoding at 5 channels instead of 6, but when I run it back through, there is no LFE. So I guess the question is, how do I preserve the LFE channel in this conversion? and why is MeGUI crashing out? Thanks ;)

This is a bug in the Nero encoder, seems to happen on some files. We are working on a fix for this, which will probably be available early next week.

I'm going to try a few samples on my work machine tomorrow. My computer is running like 95+ cpu usage and has 0 memory free, so that may be causing it to crash out.
It does it on ANY of my ac3 files when I choose 5/3.1 as the output, but the all crash at different times, so it appears to be random leading me to believe it's an issue with my hardware setup.
Also it ONLY happens when I am trying to enable the LFE channel

FYI this works fine for me using NicAudio in Avisynth to decode the AC3 rather than using DirectShow. Try disabling "Force Directshow" in the MeGUI audio config...

Apprecaite the response. I have tried a few times using NICAudio and still get wierd crashes.
I'm at my work today and getting the same errors no matter what decoder I use. Gonna try NicAudio here and see if it works ;)
EDIT: Similar error using NicAudio 2.04

I have narrowed it down to:
Encoding HE-AAC 5.1 w/ LFE Channel
Anything else works fine.
Still bored at work, So I took the long way and transcoded AC3 to a 5.1 WAV file and then ran it through the nero command line and I also get an error message, So I look forward to the new Nero release :)
EDIT: Used -2pass method and it works great....very odd
